It happens mostly over freeware sceneries that use unoptimized autogen and over some payware sceneries where autogen is too “heavy”. But there are a few sceneries where I go as low as 3 (Dense). I fly at AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5 or AUTOGEN_DENSITY=4. On the other hand – if the problems increase when you are close to a large city or a forest – you should adjust autogen settings. If you experience FPS drops flying in bad weather – changing autogen to sparse will probably make no difference – resources released will be too small to cause better FPS. 0.1 would give better performance at the expense of crispness and 0.75 to 1.0 might give greater crispness at the expense of performance. If you look for performance boost – make sure that you aim in the right direction. Increase LOD radius to 6.5 (this will revert back to 4.5 if you make any alterations in the fsx graphics menu and will have to be reset by hand). It’s tricky how the autogen causes performance problems but my observation is that in many cases the difference between sparse and very dense autogen can be negligible.

For freeware sceneries – sometimes it’s safe to add 1, sometimes you need to lower the setting. 105 million passengers board nearly 1 million flights to over 200 destinations every year. It’s the World’s Number 1 whether by passenger traffic, landings and take-offs, revenue flights, aircraft movements, daily ops, non-stop flights, the superlatives go on. If you use default scenery – add 1 to the settings above. ATL by definition is a monumentally busy place. Low-end PCs may run autogen at AUTOGEN_DENSITY=4 without a problem if the scenery allows it and if other factors affecting performance are not at play.Īfter years of tests on several different PCs I can say that AUTOGEN_DENSITY=4 is the safest setting and gives an acceptable autogen density. In some cases AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5 will be out of range even in the best PCs (because of OOM risk in 32-bit application like FSX). There are basic settings that should be adjusted for scenery requirements and possibly – the weather. This scenery contains photoreal backgrounds that are designed to blend in with the payware FTX textures By Anthony Lynch. Low-end PCs (quad core 3.8GHz or slower, dual core, nVidia 550 or earlier): AUTOGEN_DENSITY=2 or 3 Contains scenery that includes Darwin International as well as Royal Darwin Hospital helipad and the military helipads at Robertson Barracks. High-end PCs (quad core 4.5GHz+, 8-16 GB RAM, nVidia 770 or better): AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5 Recommendationįor payware sceneries i recommend using the following settings: Extremely dense autogen causes no harm over desert but may crash your FSX when flying over Canadian forests. If you use add-on sceneries adjust density setting to your scenery and to the place where you fly.

This is the fourth version of Gatwick Xtreme. Since then it has continued to grow at a rapid pace, with the latest addition being the new Pier 1, and changes to Pier 5. In 1953, it was decided that Gatwick was to become London’s second airport, mainly for the use of charter flights. Gatwick dates back to 1946 when it was a basic grass strip. This major airport has two main terminals (South and North), which are linked by a transit train. Welcome to the most detailed scenery ever made for Gatwick Airport.
